Great post. The connection of God and awe is killer, the correct-pronounciation-incorrectly-spelled „Gazundheit“ brings us back firmly into our fallible-human-enslaved world-with one misspelled word. Nicely done. There’s a famous quote from the Tao te Ching that doesn’t leave my mind: something to the effect of „those who lose the ability to be awed embrace authority.“ Fits well with your poem.
lol I've never seen "Gazuntite" or "Gazundheit" spelled. I've heard it spoken only. Now I know ;-) Interesting that you brought up the Tao, a passage from a Taoist meditation book I have inspired me to write this. I'd never heard the quote you mentioned, "Those who lose the ability to be awed embrace authority" now that is killer
Yes, I was always blown away by that quote. Wish I could‘ve reprinted it accurately. „Gesundheit“ is the original German word, but yours is perfect for the piece.
„Gesund“ is the word for „healthy“ and anything that ends in „-heit“ is the noun form of the word (Health).

And I’ll also never get enough of birds!
