Hey friends. The day is now. What started out as a burst of lyrics I hardly remember writing three days after the passing of my cousin in 2024 would then become a poem.
I’d then share that poem here on Substack in June of 2024.
Three of you commented asking if I’d make that poem into the next song on the album— and so it was.
We finished the song that summer, and now, nearly a year later, it’s being passed unto you.
“Grieve” is the invitation. “My Love” is you.
You are cordially invited to step into a place of reverence, remembrance, love, and anything else within the depths of your infinite being that is asking to be free.
I dedicate this song to my cousin, Corey Meskil. I already know you’re flying in bliss, you’re quite the impressive spirit over there — in proper fashion, of course, mirroring the larger than life personality you emanated here.
I also dedicate this to my Florida family — my uncles, my aunts, my cousin G, my cousin H — I love you guys so much, you’ve shown me so much beauty in this life. Perhaps I should tell you more often. In some cases I haven’t told you at all, so, this is the first of many.
I love you, so much.
I also dedicate this to every single comrade of mine in recovery who has departed.
I dedicate this to every soul from Eugene, Oregon who we’ve lost on the firing lines of addiction — Love, I know you still fly in bliss.
I dedicate this to the souls who may feel they’ve lost their way. I will do my best to support you on your journey.
I dedicate this to Dylan Smith, Joey Badalucco, Shane Atrushi, Kaitlyn Oslund, Cory Adams, Alexa Abram, Autumn Leebrick, Stephen Chaplin, Amelia Judkins, Amy Erenberger, Justin Harrison, Aunt Rosalie, Grandmother Indigo Jewel, and everyone else from the PNW who is now our beloved Departed.
I dedicate this to YOU.
We, as humans in this embodiment, in this realm, in this incarnation, are here for a reason. It’s time to REMEMBER.
Now is the time to remember.

May the fear of loving and being loved cease.
God bless you all.
Special thanks to Saw Tooth Wave, the man who took my demo piano melodies and transcribed them into the music you hear on this track. He is playing every instrument you hear.
He’s also producing my album Ghost In The Machine with me, and is the best collaborator and creative partner anyone could ask for. He plays all the instruments on every track. God bless you homie. Truly.
Video directed by Kat Fodor with Fodor Foto & Films. Though I live in Tampa, I drove down to Sarasota to shoot this video on the North side of Lido Key. Felt fitting, because Corey was born, lived, and died in Sarasota — a true Florida native, this was his place.
It was his passing that triggered the eruption of words that has now become this song. God bless you. We’ll all see you again. Until then, we’ll keep our eyes on the lights.
Beautiful song ✨✨✨
Watched the vid on YT and it shines brightly, the song conveys your words perfectly.
