One person every five minutes overdoses and dies on fentanyl in the United States.

Unintended drug overdose (primarily from fentanyl) is the leading cause of death in American adults under 44, killing more people each year than car accidents, homicide, diseases, and suicide.

I’m sharing this opening statement from Jelly Roll at a senate hearing because this is my story too— and countless others.

This entire publication was started based on how much death I’ve seen in this life, hence the title.

90% of those deaths were drug overdoses, and they are more than I can count at this point. What I do know is that most people I have loved in this life are dead because of this, and I’m 34 years old.

Sure, Jelly Roll is talking to politicians, and if we really wanted change, we’d likely not start there. But the important thing, given the way our culture is, is this:

People don’t give a fuck unless the TV tells them too. Even moreso, people don’t give a fuck unless a person of influence tells them to. Who are the most influential people in our society? Celebrities.

I have much respect for Jelly Roll for doing this. I don’t care how we go about it, it’s better than what we’re currently doing, which is cleaning up the mess and lowering caskets and finding the lifeless bodies of people we just saw yesterday. We need people to actually give a fuck.

So fuck these politicians, I still think this is beneficial because the general population will see it and maybe they’ll stop viewing people addicted to drugs as subhuman.

For those who are new to this publication, I am a former heroin addict. I have been clean and sober for 14 years. My sobriety date is November 27th of 2009. We do fucking recover. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

It is important for us to awaken from the spell of apathy. Fuck everyone who cries about a war halfway across the world but steps over the bodies of the sick and dying in their own backyards, and in many cases, under their own roofs. We may have lost many people already, but MANY MORE can still be saved.

Connection is the antidote to addiction. Never forget that.

BTW yes I am aware that if we really wanted to get this shit off the street we’d go after the pharmaceutical companies who make it and put their heads on pikes. There are also ways to make sure this shit doesn’t get through the borders when made outside of a lab.

Best believe, if it is here and here in droves, it’s because it’s being allowed through. The CIA created drug cartels, so though the message here is what is most important —- let us not forget that these politicians who want to blame it all on drug cartels are completely full of shit and complicit. They could stop this from getting in, and they don’t. They could make REHAB FREE FOR EVERYONE, but instead it is a luxury very few can afford, because health insurance companies are permitted to take what was supposed to be “healthcare” and turn it into one of the most parasitic industries I’ve seen.

HOWEVER…

We The People could start living in a more natural way that doesn’t create a society with such chronic levels of dysfunction that it becomes a breeding ground for addiction— and THAT, my friends, IS WHAT WE HAVE THE POWER TO DO.

Fuck the feds, fuck the pharma cartels and fuck the drug cartels. WE have power over our energy, and that energy affects EVERYTHING.

Never forget we live in a cosmic web. Never forget the interwovenness of life, the bliss void indivisible. INDIVISIBLE. Never for a second let your head tell you that you are helpless to make a difference.

I’ve seen random acts of kindness deter people from suicide. Never underestimate yourselves… because you are ALWAYS contributing to the cosmic ocean that we all breathe and exist in. We all are.

I make a suggestion that we start fixing the issues in our own neighborhoods, our own families, communities, and selves, before getting riled up about shit across the ocean or what some dumb fucks in the WEF are doing. We are invincible if we are strong and united.

There can ONLY be resistance when there is resilience. So let’s start with us.
