Yes. I frequent the coast. It is my mental release and spiritual recharge. The poem is beautiful.

Omg are we in the same area? Did I know that? Forgive me if I did. My memory is not what it typically is right now. And yes.. it's a tremendous mental release and recharge. TBH, I'd live there. It's unlike any other part of the State or region. just blows my mind. I want to take that train they have that goes all the way up the State on the coastline.

Great stuff. Always loved the Upper Left coastline. Don’t know about asking the lighthouse though. Humans don’t have that eternal component the sea athe rocks and those beautiful coastal trees do, and we’re good at rejecting or ignoring the nurturing components we have. That means your lighthouse may be leading you where you don’t want to be…

I do not understand this comment at all? This is poetry, and it gets unnecessarily wrecked and picked apart by people who approach it with literalist brains - although one can learn something from nearly anything, and where we might be drawn or guided is entirely personal and shouldn't need to be explained. What the lighthouse represents to you is likely not what it represents to me.

I apologize for the overstep. I only meant that Nature offers everything we could ever need-for free-while we muck everything up trying to improve on the best God can give us. I would never pick apart someone else’s poetry, although I can see how you would think that-I just believe that something real -like God & Nature-should be respected for what it is. What we make are only poor imitations of both.

Beautiful Tess.

Thanks for reading Debi!! I thought of you before I scheduled it to be published, as it was a reflection of the coasts rainier, more typical days. 💜 Love you

That was beautiful.

We have inland oceans in Michigan, these Great Lakes have a haunting beauty. Short cut: in the article, go to bottom, I have a video of my daughter and I walking out to the lighthouse on the Lake Michigan shore. Was off the hook, a bit eerie, full of bugs. My daughter is a danger girl, so when I dared her take the walk she didn’t hesitate.

I come to near tears at like half the things you write. Thank you for your beautiful messages always. I am glad you enjoyed this piece. You would love the coast out here.

Wow, thank you. I didn't know who that was and I had to look it up. Did not know that is a singer/songwriter. I'm going to have to check out her music now. Thank you!
