Using Astronomy to Clarify the April 8th Eclipse
Plus remedies and tips for navigation in these times, including a free Kundalini Yoga webcast for the Lunar Eclipse tomorrow
Sources for this information will be at the end of the article. If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I do not use tropical astrology, so when constellations are mentioned these will be Sidereal.
I learn from Egyptian, Babylonian and Jyotish traditions/texts, as well as teachers who have been doing this far longer than I have. If you’d like recommendations for an astrologer to consult with, DM me and I’ll refer you to them.
April 8th Eclipse and Collective Confusion:
It’s important to not generate mass hysteria, as you are much more likely to generate a crisis with that energy, as opposed to being a witness to some apocalyptic event.
The main things I’m hearing are people freaking out that the path of totality is crossing over certain cities/townships with the name Ninevah. (Also Jonah and Ark.) Let’s start there:
This Has Happened Before
Eclipse cycles (Saros cycles) meaning: An eclipse with the same path of totality, in the same constellation, within the same proximity to the nodes, will repeat every 54 years and 33 days. The ancients knew this.
Is anyone surprised that a significant name for a town was assigned to multiple cities/towns along a known path of totality for a solar eclipse?
The practice of designing both architecture of structures and cities in alignment with celestial bodies or events is nothing new, that’s been going on for thousands of years. Is anyone surprised that the same thing might be still occurring?
Astronomy, numerology and astrology are coded and referenced in many religious texts, including the Bible. People take this too literal while also being unaware of astronomical and astrological knowledge, something that has been traditionally occulted (hidden), or in todays case, out in the open but watered down and bastardized.
Is it the end of times?
I’m going with no, but if it is, why worry? You can’t do shit about it. If it’s the rapture, you’ll be fine. If it’s not, and you don’t cause a bunch of needless chaos via fear mongering yourself and others, you’ll be fine.
The only person who can really cause you any harm is yourself.
Let’s talk about the Eclipses now:

The lunar eclipse on Sunday will be around 11 degrees of (sidereal) Virgo. An eclipse is an eclipse, it brings destabilizing energy. This is for a purpose.
No matter how extreme a situation is, it will change. It cannot continue forever. Natural events balance themselves out by seeking their opposites, and this process of balance is at the heart of all healing.
Actually, without these slight imbalances, there could be no movement in life. It is being off balance that keeps life changing. Total centering, total balance would only be stasis.
All life is continual destruction and healing, over and over again. That is why, even in the midst of an extreme situation, the wise are patient. Whether the situation is illness, calamity or their own anger, they know that healing will follow upheaval.

So, life cycles.
Yes, eclipses bring disruption, crisis, instability, but this is for a reason. We gotta have things that make shit shake, it’s the natural order of things. Best move is to slow down, listen, watch and observe. Notice that which falls apart and that which does not. Adjust accordingly. This is how wisdom and progress are established.
General Remedies & Using the Energy for Evolution:
In Kundalini Yoga we were taught to spend the day in meditation and prayer, and to not be walking around outside during an eclipse. Do what you want, but I personally don’t expose myself to an energy that often brings a great deal of instability on its own.
There are always ways to use these events as a platform for elevation as well. The last two eclipses we had in October, I was in a Kundalini Yoga immersion for five days with LFA.
I had just left an abusive relationship and moved states to get away from this dude two weeks prior to the first eclipse. I knew I needed to take part in the yogic retreat, I needed healing and was not sleeping at night, and having flashbacks during the day.
You’d think the eclipses would have made this worse, but I emerged from them way ahead of where I’d ever imagined being. Those articles / prose / transcriptions from those sessions can be found at the bottom of this post.
So, whatever your spiritual practice is, double down on it, and allow whatever arises to be transformed.
The lunar eclipse is happening with Ketu. In good fashion with Ketu’s detached nature, practice noticing that which falls apart, and that which does not.
Let go or get dragged. Notice, but don’t jump at something with reactiveness if you can help it; things are often not what they seem in these times.

Solar Eclipse April 8th:
This one is a bit more intense. I’m going to elaborate on the general astrology for the collective. It’s also right on Rahu, a nodal point / energetic entity I have a personal gripe with, but that’s neither here nor there:
This one’s coming in at about 24 degrees of (sidereal) Pisces, only four degrees away from Rahu. This is a total eclipse.
Rahu deals in… insatiable desire and obsession. See the mythology to better understand. It is the severed head of the immortalized demon, one that can never be satisfied no matter how much it consumes, because it has been separated from its body (Ketu).
This of course is interpreted differently in western/modern astrology. Pay attention to Rahu transits in your chart and decide for yourself.
We’ve also got a Mars-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius occurring at this time, with transiting Jupiter squaring both of them (loosely).
I did notice that Mercury, who is lord of the year being that he was the first planet to rise (along with fixed star Scheat, more on that another time, it’s significant though) at the astrological new year on March 11th.
He passes right through this area and will be only a few degrees away during this eclipse. Mercury will not only be in a period of invisibility (underworld time, meaning his rotation is so close to the sun he is not visible from earth) but he will also be retrograde.
Note that along with Mercury, both Venus and Saturn are also invisible in their orbit during this time. If boundaries are encroached, justice is undone, security systems failing, or issues surrounding love, relationships and art are tested on core levels, know that this is part of a transformative cycle and will end; but learn what you can while you’re in it.
Final comments, a poll, resources, and the transcriptions from the yogic immersion during last round of eclipses in October:
Mars-Saturn conjunct around a total solar eclipse with the added gasoline of people spazzing out from religion, plus the added theatre of the national guard deployed in the path of totality (can’t let a good imaginary crisis go to waste!) plainly speaks to chaos. On a global scale, possible escalations of war and conflict.
Or, perhaps the people will finally start fighting back against traditional power structures like governments. We’ll see. However, the effects of eclipses are LONG lasting… and sometimes they are trigger events to things that will begin to play out over the long term.
Above is the image of the solar eclipse from March 6th, 1970, which was the same “type” or cycle of eclipse that this one is, regarding path of totality, constellation, and proximity to the nodes. 54 years and 33 days from April 8th 2024.
While eclipses can feel like a cosmic suplex or collective dark night of the soul, it’s nothing to fear if you act accordingly. Have respect and reverence for these celestial cycles, do what you must to secure your magnetic field (energy) and that’s about it.

:) I like that very much. We can't be more secure than we are at every moment. I haven't been much into astrology, mainly because I'm training myself to let go of knowledge and experience everything I'm facing from within. Regarding the possible magnetic energy field reversal impacts on humanity, I do recall that even the Native American Indians, for centuries, stayed inside or underground, let alone not even look up or into it. In fact it's sacrilegious to that effect.
